I was so fond of the idea of digital products and affiliate marketing and never thought to start a business involving handling of physical products. I kept saying to myself that’s too much hassle handling items, shipping, storage space, and so on. Any of these would defy the very idea of online business, at least to me.
Until now. I’m already in love with Amazon, sort of. 🙂
A couple months ago I came across a program, Textbook Money, created by two smart guys, Luke Sample (aka Lambo Luke) and Jon Shugart, which is leveraging a particular feature of the US version of Amazon, namely their trade-in program. The idea was so simple and appealing that I simply didn’t resist and purchased my access into the membership area, out of curiosity, and surprisingly started to make money from day one, literally! In my three years of online marketing experience, I didn’t find any other program that delivers instantly like this one!
I feel that a question might arise here and I’ll rather quickly answer that question. The Amazon trade-in program will not pay you with cash, but rather with gift card balance. Then how the heck to convert that balance into cash? This is covered in the course and there are even multiple methods to achieve this.
Below you’ll find an affiliate link to a recorded webinar which explains the whole process in great details. You can watch it for free, and if you feel it fits your needs and you decide to go ahead and make the purchase, I will receive a commission, but rest assured, this review is not biased in any way, it’s based exclusively on my personal experience.
This is the same video that convinced me to purchase the product (well, what do you know).
What Is This All About?
The methods proposed within this program are so simple that anyone, I repeat ANYONE can implement them. And what is the most important thing, they deliver from day one. Also, there is no need for websites, autoresponders, funnels, squeeze pages, content creation, product creation, traffic, social marketing, nothing that is usually required for an Internet business. As a matter of fact, all these things require considerable effort and time. But this time it’s about an entirely different type of online business.
Here is what is happening: basically you buy a textbook at a low price from a third party Amazon seller, then you trade that book in back to Amazon through their trade-in program at a higher price. As simple as that. There is too much to explain why this system works and why Amazon is happy about that, too much to be covered in this article, but you always can refer to this video for detailed explanations.
There is also a piece of software involved that will help you to quickly find the best deals, I mean books having their trade-in price higher than the lowest offer price. With this piece of software, you can easily spot the good deals.
Oh, and if you don’t want to handle physical items by yourself, textbooks in this particular case, they have you covered. Textbook Money includes an option to outsource all physical handling, including receiving, preparing and shipping to Amazon (or even other online buyers). It’s about a dedicated processing center specialized for processing books for the Amazon trade-in program. With this processing center, even international users can implement this program. I’m one of them.
In the image above you can see the membership section where you can manage the books submitted to the processing center.
One more thing: in order to do this you only need a normal Amazon account, you don’t have to become a seller, which is an entirely different thing.
What Are the Risks?
In every business involving some kind of investment there is a certain degree of risk, but with this system, the risk is nearly zero. Why? With this particular system, you don’t list the item as a seller hoping that someone will buy it sometime. Instead, when you buy a book you will also lock in the price you’ll sell it by creating a trade-in transaction. Also, after a number of successfully paid trade-ins, Amazon start offering you instant payment for new trade-ins, even before purchasing the book! As a side note, Amazon doesn’t care where that book is coming from. If you send it in, they will pay you.
Why Do I Love this Program So Much?
- It’s extremely easy to implement. You can get ROIs typically ranging between 5% and 30% in a time span of about two weeks. In what other kinds of business can you do that?
- It starts working from day one. When you buy your first book and at the same time create the corresponding trade-in transaction, you practically lock in the profit for that book which is guaranteed.
- The membership area is loaded with tons and tons of training videos.
- There are weekly help session webinars. If for some reason you miss them don’t worry, they are recording all of them and you can watch them at your own pace.
- The customer support is outstanding.
Right now I don’t have any bonus to offer but I’m working on it. It will be a series of Amazon-related articles including stuff that I found to be important, especially for non-US people. Still don’t know which format to use, an email series or an eBook, but will definitely be soon.
